András Molnár

CEO

András Molnár

CEO

András has been the CEO and managing partner of Portfolion Capital Partners since 2014. During this time, he has led the development of the firm’s multi-stage investment platform, building the current family of funds and the teams managing them. Portfolion invests across three stages — venture capital, growth equity and private equity — and András is actively involved in overseeing these activities and participating in the key investment decisions across the platform. A central part of his role is maintaining a comprehensive overview of the firm’s deals and supporting the development of portfolio companies. He works closely with some of the most ambitious founders, tech visionaries and entrepreneurs across Central and Eastern Europe. For him, the most rewarding aspect of the job is the ongoing dialogue with founders and co-owners, working together to navigate the challenges of building enduring companies. Outside of work, András enjoys cycling with family and friends — although most of his miles are logged with his road cycling team members, Ritterpuff Carbolon.

Jenő Nieder

Deputy CEO

Jenő Nieder

Deputy CEO

Jenő joined Portfolion in 2016 as an Investment Director and became Deputy CEO and Partner in 2018. He leads key investment initiatives and is actively involved in the Investment Committees of all Portfolion-managed funds. Jenő serves as chairman and/or board member at several portfolio companies, including Finshape Group, Commsignia, Pepita Group, Graphwise, GymBeam, Connectis Tower, and Szekszárd MG. He also contributes to Hungary’s innovation ecosystem as a board member of IVSZ, the Hungarian Association of Digital Companies. He began his career in M&A and venture/private equity at KBC Securities in 2006, gaining international corporate finance experience across acquisitions and divestments, IPOs, and delistings. Jenő has been a CFA charterholder since 2011 and graduated from Corvinus University of Budapest. Outside of work, he is a dedicated sports enthusiast and a father of three, passionate about building international growth stories.

Zsolt Mihály

Partner

Zsolt Mihály

Partner

Mihály Zsolt is a Partner at Portfolion Capital Partners, where he focuses primarily on B2C-related investments, with particular emphasis on education technology, e-commerce, marketplaces, and travel tech. He joined the firm in 2017. For him, the relationship with the founder and management team is not a side element of the role, but one of the most important factors in making an investment decision. He believes Portfolion’s strength lies in taking the time to truly understand entrepreneurs and structuring investments that are fair, flexible, and aligned for everyone involved. This approach naturally leads to working closely with founders throughout the entire investment journey, and is reflected in the fact that much of the portfolio he is involved with consists of bootstrapped companies. Zsolt holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from Corvinus University of Budapest and studied at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking at Citi. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through swimming and fitness training, has a competitive background in taekwondo, and likes to spend his free time on two wheels, whether cycling or riding his bike.

Márk Pálfalvi

Principal

Mark joined Portfolion in 2019 and today leads the firm’s early-stage venture investing alongside Daniel. He has backed companies including SEON, FLOWX.AI, Kodesage, Tiney, NORBr, Riptides, and Tresorit (acquired in 2021). A defining part of Mark’s journey has been his long-standing board role at SEON, which began when the company had just a few hundred thousand in ARR. Being close to the intense journey of scaling the company shaped his view of what exceptional looks like — and what it takes to build it. He brings that experience to partner with the most ambitious founders with Central and Eastern European roots, and be a reliable partner through key inflection points — from the earliest days through scaling to $100M+ ARR. Before Portfolion, Mark was part of BlackRock’s global fundamental fixed income portfolio management team. He holds a Master’s in Finance from Corvinus University and a CEMS Master’s in Management, including studies at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Outside of work, Mark loves spending time with his wife and young daughter — especially traveling together.

CFO

Csaba Páczai

CFO

Csaba has been Portfolion’s CFO since 2020. He began his career in the financial sector, gaining experience at a brokerage firm, the Budapest Stock Exchange, and several banks. He was first introduced to venture capital while working as a consultant in the late 2000s, and has since supported investments across consulting companies, banks, and venture capital funds. As Chief Financial Officer, he oversees everything related to finance. This includes the funds we manage and the financial controlling of our portfolio. A fan of Hungarian pop-rock, you can find him at concerts and festivals—at least when they don’t clash with cross-country obstacle races.

Dániel Kiss-Király

Principal

Daniel joined Portfolion in 2020 as an Investment Analyst and has been talking to founders ever since. As part of a small, hands-on team investing across the Eastern European venture ecosystem, he focuses on early-stage companies, working closely with founders to understand products, markets, and the data behind them. Daniel most often works with founders building in cybersecurity, developer tooling, IT infrastructure, enterprise software, and applied AI. He has a soft spot for technical founders who are their own first customers and for teams taking on complex, overlooked, or seemingly “unsexy” problems with ambition. At Portfolion, Daniel currently works closely with the teams of SEON, Deskbird, NORBr, Uvionix, Riptides, and Kodesage. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Corvinus University of Budapest and a Master’s degree in Finance from Central European University. Outside of work, he enjoys playing racket sports and basketball, hiking, cooking, and tasting the world.

Rado Čuha

Associate

Rado Čuha

Associate

Rado is based in Prague and focusing on super early-stage investments in a broad range of sectors. He gravitates to founders building at the edge of technology in areas where innovation can translate into tangible impact on people’s lives (e.g., healthtech, techbio or robotics). Before venture, Rado took a less conventional route through industrial/tech policy and banking. Swapping structured institutions for the beautiful chaos of startups felt less like a career move and more like an awakening. He describes himself as a (cautious) techno-optimist and a stubborn believer in Europe’s potential. He is particularly bullish on European talent and advocates for smarter (de)regulation and stronger integration as key enablers for turning the region into a global tech powerhouse. Rado holds a BA from King’s College London and an MSc from the London School of Economics. He is also very good at collecting degrees and then working in something only loosely related to them. Outside of work, Rado spends most of his time staying active, loves traveling and sports. He values time with family and friends above all else and finds inspiration in fine art.

During her studies, she gained experience as a broker analyst, focusing on fintech and capital markets. Later, she worked as a product manager at Amazon, Mastercard, and various startups of different scales, gaining extensive experience in building and scaling digital products as well as in enterprise AI-driven solutions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, whether climbing, camping, or hiking. She also likes unwinding with a good book or discovering new music at concerts or festivals.
